Workshop: Flowers in Acrylic with Marianne Broome

“Marianne is a knowledgeable, creative, hard working and tenacious instructor and mentor. Her demos are ‘to die for’. She is easy to approach and always gives constructive advice on how to improve our paintings.” – Haliburton student Come and learn from an accomplished painter of large realistic flowers using acrylic paint. The effects that can be achieved are amazing. Learn how to achieve soft blending, create depth and structure in flowers, get colour harmony throughout the painting and make flowers vibrant and enticing. Marianne will explain all of her techniques while giving a step-by-step demonstration of a floral painting, allowing time for you to paint each part of the painting with individual help and critique from Marianne. As there is a lot to fit into a one-day workshop, Marianne suggests a composition with only one flower, using a smaller canvas e.g. 20×20 or 20×24. Participants in the workshop should have some knowledge of painting with acrylics. Marianne has had a passion for painting all her life. Agenda for the course The agenda is to discuss and clarify simplified methods to produce a successful painting using Oil and Acrylic pigments.  To apply these basics in practical assignments combined with hands on demonstration and personal attention. When: Saturday September 19, 2015 Time: 10am – 4pm Where: Victoria Parks Community Centre, Mono Mills (west side of Airport Road; from Hwy 9 turn south on Airport Road and then turn right at the first street (Calmon Drive) and immediately right onto Victoria Crescent and left into the Centre) Please arrive 15 minutes early to allow time for set up.
