From the lush Himalayan foothills of Bhutan, to the bustling city of Kolkata (formerly Calcutta), the vibrant streets of Kathmandu, and the majestic fjords of Norway – Life’s journey has taken Milly to many wonderful places across the globe. She now calls Canada home and embraces the ever-changing beauty that the four seasons bring to her garden and the Canadian landscape.
A keen gardener with a deep love for nature and the outdoors, the blooms in Milly’s garden and the places she has visited are often the sources of her inspiration.
Milly is mainly a self-taught artist, and is thankful for what she has learnt from other artists through various art courses taken over the years, for presenting her with fresh insights and techniques. Her painting style will evolve as her craft continues to develop. Her curiosity to learn, explore and work with different mediums will no doubt continue to influence her artistic development. Her paintings have found homes in the US, India and Canada, and have won awards from competitions and selected for Juried Art Shows.
She paints predominantly on canvas with acrylic as her chosen medium. She also enjoys drawing with colour pencils, sketching, and painting with oil and water colour. When she wants to step away from her paint and brushes, she turns her creative ideas to wearable art – wielding a crochet hook, knitting needle or a sewing machine with ease.
