When:  Saturday, 29 October 2022 

Time: 10:00am to 4:00pm

Where: Victoria Parks Community Centre, Mono Mills

Directions:  From Highway 9, turn south on Airport Road, then turn right at the first street, Calmon Drive, and then immediately right onto Victoria Crescent and left into the community centre.

Please arrive 20 minutes early to allow time for set up.  Please bring your own lunch.

Workshop fees:  OAG members: $60.00    non-members: $95.00

Non-members may join the OAG at the workshop.

One Colour One Stroke = pathway to confident clean colour in a dynamic Landscape

I am supplying the subject matter.

It’s suitable for Acrylics, Oils or even watercolour and pastel… the principles remain the same.

JohnDavid Anderson

JohnDavid is a resident of Stayner and an award-winning artist and teacher. He conducts many workshops including teaching in the summer program at Haliburton campus of Fleming College, and recently lead an en plein air painting trip to the south of France.


Minimum number of colours:
Alizarin Crimson or Permanent Rose or Quinacridone Rose,
Ultramarine Blue
Cadmium Yellow Light
Titanium White
Additional colours that I use a lot:
Cadmium Red Light
Cadmium Yellow Medium
Cadmium Orange
Red Violet  – I use Quinacridone Violet
Transparent Earth Red, Gamblin or Transparent Red Oxide or Transparent Burnt Sienna
Helpful colours but not necessary:
Dioxazine Violet
Viridian or Pthalo Green
Additional Stuff:
Brushes – lots, Large Flat, firm bristle, natural for Oils –  Synthetic for Acrylics
Palette  12 x 16 wood, glass or Palette paper, no foam plates
Palette knife, 2” blade, diamond shape, bent handle
Rags or paper towel
Artist Grade only Odourless Mineral Spirits for Oils
Liquin Light Gel for Oils
Matte Medium, not Gel,  for acrylics
16 x 20 canvas, canvas panel or gessoed board…or similar size
Please remember to bring a plastic sheet to cover the table, and only odourless solvents (no turpentine).
