Description

Tony Bianco will return to take us through the steps in the process of creating a painting outdoors. Questions such as –  What is it you want to communicate? What are some of the compositional considerations? What colour choices would help convey your message? – can help translate what we see, what excites us about a scene, into a painting that conveys that excitement to others.  For this workshop we will begin inside and then car pool to an outdoor location nearby where Tony will demonstrate, and offer coaching and assistance as needed. Towards the end of the workshop we will return indoors to share our work and what we have learned. This workshop is suitable for all levels of experience as well as those who have not painted out of doors before.

Tony Bianco has been expressing himself as a full time artist since the age of twenty. His work conveys a love of life, nature, and visual communication of emotion. He created a collection of over 120 paintings of Canada’s National Parks while travelling across the country with his family, entitled “A Portrait of Canada”. Tony was chosen by the Royal Canadian Mint to design several commemorative coins, including the millennium toonie. He divides his time between working on location and his studio in the scenic Mount St Louis area where he lives with his family.

Bring your usual painting materials, a portable easel, folding stool or chair if needed, and a packed lunch.

** NOTE:- There may be an additional charge of about $6 per person for park entry, depending on the location selected.
