Wendy Reid, Fine Artist, Watercolourist, Illustrator, Instructor received her formal education from Georgian College’s Fine Arts Advanced program and received a Scholarship, three Bursaries, and maintained Deans List throughout the program. Reid has been painting in Glorious Luminous watercolours for more than thirty years. Reid began her art journey right here in Dufferin County, learning from local artists whose works, expressions, and classes inspired her. Reid gives back to the community that nurtured her and teaches public and private classes, including the “Artists in the Schools” program. Recently, she was featured at the Orangeville “Celebrate the Arts 2” festival teaching and sculpting. Reid’s own works are contemporary, illustrative, colourful, and demonstrate experimental paint handling. Reid grabs your attention by using abstracted colours, negative space, and multilayers to evoke a new reality, intrigue and context for the viewer. Her work is collected locally, and internationally, and she has recently exhibited at the MacLaren Art Gallery, 2018. Wendy will also be on exhibition at the Headwaters gallery at Headwaters Health Care Centre (May), Orangeville Art Group Fall Art Show & Sale (September) and the featured artist at Barrie Art Club (October).
